Rare Valjoux movement and incredibly accurate!
What an incredible watch! I recently picked up this watch in gold tone with brown dial. When it arrived I was so pleased of the quality and craftmanship of this watch. The watch held in my hands felt very sturdy and solid and I can't believe the detail. Even though this watch doesn't have the COSC certificate ever since I had it the seconds hand exactly matched my atomic clock's second hand. Owning one of the rare Valjoux movements was a great addition to my collection. So now that you heard the good points. The only bad points are that I wished it had more luminescent markers and hands. And the dates are hard to read with the "wavey" dial. I find that if I try to reflect light off from anything that is shiny on the dial then I can read the numbers. Other than that this watch is indeed a great buy for it's high quality and accuracy. Well done Jacques Lemans!

GU188E Chronograph
I have received this watch and the watch had a problem in the movement. The speed date adjust at the second crown position could not be used to adjust the date and was defective. The date also did not change each midnight in to morning either. I have emailed the swiss JL customer service for warranty repair information in Australia and have not got a response at this time
I decided to returned this watch for a full refund due to no warranty agent in Australia and not waste any more time. Apart from the movement problem the presentation box is neat and better than some other brands. I like the built quality of the steel dial and band (6/10). I have TAG Heur and compared to the TAG the night illumination could be better. I am SO dissappointed with the movement defect. I hope this helps.

Beautiful Classic and ComfortableFirst of all let me start off by saying that Jacques LeMans makes fantastic watches for the money. Although they make some very Euro-styled pieces I tend to gravitate toward the classic elegance and simplicity of their Artis-series watches. This particular watch sells for twice as much on competitor websites so the $445 pricetag on Amazon was a real bargain. That being said the watch has so many things going for it I'm not sure where to begin. To start it's completely Swiss made (you watch guys out there know what that means). Second it has a slightly domed sapphire crystal which adds to the elegance and fluidity of the watch. The case and 5-link stainless steel bracelet are very high polished and flawless and add to the watch's sharp and clean appearance. One thing that I ALWAYS look for in a wristwatch is readability whether during daylight or night. I'm happy to say that the luminous properties of this watch are top notch. Expose the face to natural light for a couple of minutes and the numerals and hands glow brightly for some time. The movement is a highly decorated (exhibition caseback) Swiss ETA 2836 with big DAY complication at the 12:00 position. Very nice. The bracelet is extremely comfortable and 'fluid'. I own a number of Jacques LeMans timepieces but have to say that this is one of my favourites. The price may seem a bit much for some but as soon as you see and feel this watch you realize that this truly is a steal. Wear in good health.
